One of our favourite local traditions is back – the Waiau Pa School Calf Club! This year, the Waiau Pa school’s hard-working PTA has made an exciting change, moving the event to a Saturday so that more of our working community members can come along and join the fun.

A Proud Local Tradition
The Waiau Pa School Calf Club has been a much-loved fixture in our community for generations. It’s a day where students bring their animals and projects to showcase months of care, training, and creativity – and where the wider community comes together to support the school.
Animals, Projects, and Plenty of Smiles
The main attraction, of course, is the animals. From calves and lambs to goats and smaller pets, the children proudly lead them around the ring, demonstrating all the hard work they’ve put in.
Alongside the animal events, visitors can enjoy viewing the students’ creative projects – from baking and craftwork to gardening and art. Each one is a testament to the skill and effort of our local kids.
Stalls, Food, and Activities for All Ages
The school grounds will be alive with activity, with stalls run by students and families offering everything from handmade goods and fun games to delicious food and treats. Whether you’re after a sausage sizzle, a sweet treat, or just a good chat with a neighbour, there’s something for everyone.
Supporting Waiau Pa School
Calf Club isn’t just about fun – it’s also the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Every dollar raised helps provide resources, activities, and opportunities that directly benefit the students. By coming along, you’ll be helping to ensure the school continues to thrive.
