Clarks Beach & Waiau Pa Community Events

Waiau Pa & Clarks Beach Clean-UP

We’re focusing this time on the roads and streets, especially the Waiau Pa roads, although any action around all parts of Clarks Beach, including the new Waterfront Estate, is most welcome.

NB. Change of venue from that originally advertised.

Instead, the central point, including the bags, the skip and the BBQ, will be at the Waterfront Estate, corner of Clarks Beach Rd and Kaitiaki Drive.

To make it easy for Waiau Pa volunteers, bags can be collected and rubbish dropped off at a trailer outside the Bakehouse Food Trailernext door to the Fire Station.

All help greatly appreciated, and if you’re able to coordinate a section of road with your neighbors, please contact either:

Andrew Whiteley 027 272 1535 or
Robyn Pearce 0275 846 348

Once your bag(s) are full, just phone either Andrew or Robyn on the numbers above for collection, or deliver to where you picked up your bags.

Big thanks to Harcourts Port Realty for sponsoring and facilitating this wonderful community-good initiative.

PLEASE NOTE: SAFETY FIRST
If you’re working alongside the roads, please wear a high-vis vest or clothing. Also, gloves and closed footwear.

CBA Sunflower Competition

Our sunflower season is off to a slow start this year due to the very wet spring, so judging will now take place after the CBA Christmas Party. Stay tuned for the official date and details! In the meantime, keep tending to your plants and giving them plenty of sunshine and love.

Top tip:

Sunflowers thrive in well-drained soil and adore full sun, so make sure they’re getting at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day. A little patience (and regular watering) will go a long way toward those towering blooms!

1st - 25th December Christmas Lights Competition

After enthusiastic support from many for our first Christmas Lights competition last December, we're doing it again.

Watch the Grapevine for more information later this month, and in the meantime, think about how you'd like to decorate your home and property this festive season.
