Clarks Beach & Waiau Pa Community & Business Association Meeting

Next Meeting - Thursday 12th February 2026 - 6.30pm

Your Community and Business Association (CBA) meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from February to October. Make it your regular night to meet your neighbours. Interesting and varied programme. Open to all.

Community Meeting

Thursday 12th February 2026

  • Time:  6.30pm arrival for 7pm start

  • Where: Clarks Beach Golf Club, 100 Stevenson Road, Clarks Beach

  • Speaker:  Chris Charles, Regional Trails Programme Manager, Auckland Council.

Chris will give us an update on our long-awaited bike and walk path between Clarks Beach and Waiau Pa School. He and Paul Arthur have been talking to landowners and Chris is looking forward to meeting you all. He needs your ideas about several matters, including location.

As well as our first AGM as the new(ish) amalgamation of two entities—the Residents Association and the Business Association - we’ve got Ruth Scandrett, GM of Hopper Living, to tell us about the coming lifestyle village for older residents. It’s currently at the consent stage and planned to be part of our new sub-division, the Waterfront Estate. Everyone is invited to the monthly community meetings. Catch up with friends. Hear about topics that matter to us all. And if you’re a new resident, whether renter or owner, it’s a great way to meet your friendly neighbours. See you there.

Franklin HOP 2026 is organised by a small group of amazing local volunteers dedicated to raising funds for non-profit community groups in the Franklin area. Our event in 2026 will not only offer a classic car show, but we also have a vibrant mix of local food vendors, live music, family friendly activities, and community group displays – creating a lively atmosphere for all ages.

We extend an invitation to any local clubs, groups and organizations who wish to showcase their talents/services, to contact us regarding having a stall on the day. This will be at no cost. Contact us at events@franklinhop.org

Keep It Simple Sunflower

Thank you to EVERYONE who participated in the sunflower growing... certainly got folk chatting & the competition was strong ... and didn’t they look lovely.

Apologies there were not more prizes sponsored, some good things take time... just like sunflowers blooming.

To the winners ... and everyone who shared their lovely photos...thank you for taking part! Congratulations Christine Appleton and Toni Dolan ... you both have Green fingers.

Special mention too, to Bernd & Felicity Reber, Gail, Kath, Hansa and Helen ... they were LOVELY! The sunflowers certainly brightened up many a corner, wall and fence. Please harvest your seeds and we will do it all again next year...

Thank you Rebekah Ryan for taking up the slack, organising the prizes and for your unwavering support... hugely appreciated.
